Shall we just say that the Friday evening of the Snowflake Bazaar was truly Moonlight Madness as the first hour saw items fly off the tables in record numbers! The opening of the Bazaar saw tables laden with goods, and by the end, only a handful of "Men's Table" items remained.
Positive comments were abound—many parents giving thanks for the efforts of event; several recalling their own fond memories of shopping at the Snowflake Bazaar and now bringing their children.
Most kids came very well prepared with large sturdy shopping bags to hold their treasures, and Ziploc bags with money and gift giving lists were plentiful.
A buzz of conversations filled the air as shoppers looked for the perfect gifts and compared their purchases with each other. In an interaction between two little ones showing each other what they had purchased, one was overhead saying "This was only two bucks!"
We are pleased that voluntary donations from the Bargain Basement totalling $450 will be forwarded to the Springfield Hamper Program. We thank the community for their generous support!
And finally, we cannot stress enough how grateful we are for the support of volunteers before, during, and after the event. It is so true that many hands make light work!
